Sri Lanka Expands National Mobile & Telecommunications Infrastructure

COLOMBO — The Telecommunications Regulatory Commission alongside leading regional operators announced a new phase of high-speed mobile network deployment aimed at expanding regional connectivity and digital accessibility.

The modernization plan focuses on improving network reliability in rural corridors, supporting contactless digital payments, and enhancing educational bandwidth access across municipal centers.

According to industry analysts, upgraded mobile infrastructure continues driving consumer adoption of digital banking, e-commerce, and public digital services across all nine provinces.
